ABOUT THE JOB

Our portfolio of businesses, where people are able to develop their employment skills includes:

  • A Brewery
  • Four Cafes
  • An Ice Cream Parlour
  • Two Shopmobility outlets
  • A Market Garden
  • A Hair and Beauty Salon
  • Two Community Pantries
  • An Animal Smallholding
  • A Specialist Dementia Service

We also run some more traditional groups in the community, focusing on developing and maintaining living skills, supporting people who may have behaviour that can challenge or offering therapeutic and social value in activities such as The Samba Band, Craft production and PMLD groups.

The role of our Support Worker will:

  • Provide appropriate physical, emotional or intellectual support to people using services that will enable them to fulfil their aspirations as determined through the individual planning process.
  • Support people using services to access a range of community opportunities, including those in leisure, educational and employment services, as directed by line managers.
  • Attend to the health care needs of individuals, as appropriate and as agreed with line Managers. This may include the administration of medication, carrying out of agreed health care procedures etc.
  • Have the ability to work flexibly, with a range of people using services, and to respond quickly to meet service delivery needs.

ABOUT YOU

The successful candidates for the role of our Support Worker will ideally hold an NVQ 2 in any of our service areas, or have the specialised skills that would enable you to support people in a person centred way in any of our business or therapeutic endeavours so we would love to hear from you.
